Celebrating Kuppd's Innovate UK BUILD Award!
We are thrilled to announce that Kuppd has been honored with the prestigious Innovate UK BUILD Award! This accolade marks a significant milestone in our journey to revolutionize breast prostheses with cutting-edge technology and sustainability at its core.
A Vision Realized
Kuppd was founded with a simple yet profound mission: to help women regain their confidence and sense of self after breast surgery. Our perfectly fitting 3D printed breast prostheses are designed not only to restore physical balance but also to empower women to embrace life with renewed vigor. The Innovate UK BUILD Award is a testament to our commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.
Innovate UK BUILD Programme
The Innovate UK BUILD Programme is renowned for supporting groundbreaking projects that drive industry transformation. Receiving this award places Kuppd among an elite group of innovators dedicated to making a tangible impact on people's lives. This recognition underscores the potential of our technology to set new standards in the post-mastectomy and transfemme markets.
The Kuppd Phase 4 Project
With the support of the Innovate UK BUILD Programme, we are embarking on the Kuppd Phase 4 Project. This project aims to finalize the prototyping and testing necessary to launch Kuppd as a minimum viable product (MVP). Our focus is on improving competitive products in terms of fit, environmental benefits, and inclusivity.
Collaborating with Manchester's Finest
We are proud to collaborate with the Manchester Fashion Institute and Print City at Manchester Metropolitan University. Under the expert guidance of Barbara Shepherd, Jayne Mechan, Dr. Keith Winwood, Dr. Tom Allen, and Garry Buller, we are refining our designs, conducting rigorous print testing, and gathering invaluable feedback from focus groups. Their multidisciplinary expertise is instrumental in shaping a product that meets the highest standards of quality and comfort.
What’s Next for Kuppd?
The road ahead is filled with exciting opportunities. Over the next few months, we will be refining our 3D printed prototypes, conducting extensive testing, and hosting a focus group to gather feedback from our community. This feedback is crucial in ensuring that Kuppd prostheses meet the diverse needs of our users.
Our goal is to complete the MVP prototypes and testing by November 2024. Throughout this journey, we remain committed to sustainability by using eco-friendly materials and promoting a circular economy, where our products can be given a second life after use.
